The Lions Golf Team finished the regular season 9-2 with Chad Cox leading the way with a 1.9 index. The Lions also won the MAC Conference Tournament for the first time ever with Chad Cox and Brad Buchanan receiving all conference honors. Chad was also Tournament Low Medalist with a 74. At the NCISSA State 3A Tournament Chad and Brad both took away All State Honors. Chad fired a 75-76 good enough for a tie for 4th and Brad shot 77-77 and a tie for 8th. This was also a first for the Lions.

Golf is open to boys and girls in grades 7 through 12.  Hickory Grove houses a varsity team which practices from February to May.  The varsity team competes for both a conference title in the Metrolina Athletic Conference (MAC) as well as a state title in the North Carolina Independent Athletic Association (NCISAA).

Student-athletes must have a current physical/parent permission form completed before participating in any tryouts or practices.  If you are not sure about your child’s status, please contact the Athletic Office at 704-531-3502 prior to the start of the athletic season.
